Simple Snack

Getting back into the groove here...Everyone in my house has had a terrible bug, and we are just now starting to feel normal...if only I could get my house to look normal!

Ainnsley's simple snack...She says the big oranges are better than the little ones (clementines) Our last box of clementines was not the best, and Naval Oranges are looking great.

Left to Right:
Orange slices
Hummus and these great bread sticks I found with fantastic ingredients.

New Lunchbot

So excited to get my lunchbot in the mail yesterday! I really like this one; stainless instead of plastic, and there is a lot of room inside. I saw on their facebook page that they are coming out with some little sealable containers for yogurt and such and that would be the perfect addition!

Left to Right
Grape Skewers, organic cereal bar
Crackers and the letter H cheese, carrot sticks and hummus

A terrible picture, but these little bars are just the perfect size, and have a great ingredient list.

Pink

Ainnsley's class focuses on a letter and colour each week. This week it is Pink and the letter H. I was excited to buy this Wilton alphabet and number fondant cutter set last week. I needed it to make Grady's Birthday Cake, and now it is the perfect addition to my bento making madness!

Lunch:

Left to Right
WW apple, raisin bread
Lemon snap cookies, grapes with pink bunny fork, clementine sections, and some pink strawberry cream cheese to spread on the bread (she asked to be able to spread it herself, I sent a little kiddie knife) and the word PINK cut out of fruit leather

Little Ducks

Ainnsley's snack and lunch for today. she requested a grilled cheese sandwich. I told her it would be cold, and she said that was OK. We shall see if she eats it :)

I made these Krispy Treats last night for the kids. I switched the peanut butter with sunflower seed butter so they would be nut free and school safe. They turned out pretty good. I must say the peanut butter is much better, so if you were to make them not for school, use that instead. However they were still sweet and yummy, and my kids ate them with no complaint (didn't even notice)

Snack:

Left to Right:
Grapes, clementine sections
Krispy Treat, duck shaped cheese

Lunch:

Left to Right:
Flower shaped grilled cheese, Krispy Treat
Apple slices and blueberries (not sure what it is supposed to be...)

My little Star

Today's snack and lunch for Ainnsley.

I have been letting her pick one Halloween treat each day for her lunch. This certainly takes away from it being a *clean* bento, but I truly believe I need to teach her how to eat a treat in moderation. Lets face it, is she going to eat a chocolate bar at some point in her life? yes. So I hope I can teach her to just have 1...don't binge, splurge and then go back to eating healthy, don't have guilt associated with your eating, just have a small treat and keep eating and enjoying life the way you always have. We only trick or treat around our block, so there is enough candy for her to have a treat in her lunch for basically just this week.

I have lived my entire life until recently on the *starts Monday* diet.. Likely because that is what I saw my mother do *sorry mom!* haha. I just don't want to set Ainnsley up for that trend...there just needs to be balence :)

ok so on with the lunch....

snack
Star cheese, crackers, box of raisins
Lemon snaps, raspberries

Lunch
Chicken salad on a ww flat bun, babybel cheese
Apple sauce, chocolate bar
