Witch Bento

My last Halloween bento

This was her snack, she took soup for lunch today.

Halloween Bento

My attempt at a halloweenish bento! I made a sad attempt at a broccoli Frankenstein, and when I showed it to Ainnsley she didn't even know who it was haha, but she still liked it :)

Snack:

Pumpkin Muffin, ghost cheese skewer
Cantaloupe bites and real fruit straws


Lunch:

Grape Skewers
Broccoli Frankenstein made from cheese, fruit leather and carob chips with container of hummus to dip
Mini pita pockets stuffed with salmon salad made into a Jack0Lantern
(carob chips, fruit stips, spinach stem)

Another pumpkin

Today Ainnsley was just tickled by her little pumpkin...I think mostly the carob chip smile :)

Salads and Rolls

I have two days worth of bentos to share.

Yesterday was Pizza Day at my daughters school, so I sent her with a snack and then a salad and some fruit to go with her pizza. (of course not much salad was eaten, but trying to teach her about a balanced meal)

Pumpkins

Out of all the lunches so far, this one got the biggest and best reaction from *A*

I have to try the muffins again, I ran out of baking powder, these didn't rise!

Trail mix

TGIF! Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians.

Today I tried out throwing together a little trail mix for her. She was excited! I did have to be sure and tell her not to just eat the carob chips :)

Snack:

Trail mix (raw pumpkin and sunflower seeds, raisins, cranberries, carob chips) lemon snap cookies, cream cheese for the sticks

crackers for the cheese, lemon snap heart cookies, raspberries

Little Animals

Ainnsley was really pleased when she saw the new little animal picks in her grapes :) I made some yummy Oatmeal Summer Squash muffins last night. I will post the recipe soon.

The leaves are starting to fall

Fall is my favourite time of year. I love all the colours, the temperature, the smell of the air, and all the wonderful food that comes in our CSA share from Circle Organic Community Farm

So excited about the beautiful melons we got for the first time this year in our box
